Asplundh Trees receives $95 Million dollar fine for employing illegal immigrants.
Asplundh Trees a company headquartered in Montco has agreed to pay $95 Million in forfeiture as a federal case surrounding the company's hiring practices nears an end. For the last 5 years federal investigators have been looking into a hiring practice that would to many others seem out right shady. The business created a system in which they could hire undocumented workers while managers turned a blind eye.
Asplundh management had gone through a process of hiring in which they were re hiring a lot of the same illegal immigrants they let go fro not having proper credentials to work in the United States. This has lead to one of the largest and oldest tree business in the US being hit with the largest fine ever given to a tree and or green company.
