Most small business think Im crazy when I tell them to take advantage of the upcoming holidays to market their services. The 4th of July is a great way to get your name out there. You can do this both traditionally and online.
The 4th of July is a major holiday for us in the United States. We celebrate our independence on this day.According to Google Trends the 4th of July is a super short marketing holiday, running from roughly from June 15 to July 4th.
You can 100% use this holiday when trying to get more customers. Running a 4th of July sale is a great way to start, I know this sounds cliche but this is a great way to gain more customers. Running these sales generates more income not just from current customers but new ones too.
Telling a story on your social media that pertains to independence whether it is a great 4th of July memory or about a time you gained independence from something. This helps engage people to your social media account and helps create a bigger following. This will also help your potential customers get to know you on a more personal level. They will then feel more connected to you and their trust for you as a company will grow.
Another great way is to honor a local hero. During this time of year people think about the heros who have helped keep our indepence. You can also make a donation to a cause supporting your local veterans. Not just veterans but firefighters and police officers can get recognition during this time. Showing your support for these amazing people will pair your love for the our country with your grass roots.
Using graphics that pertain to the holiday is also another great way to help catch your potential customers eye. The American flag is a classic, you can't go wrong with this. Just remember most people will use this. You want to stand out from the crowd. Rockets, baseballs, bald eagles, summer, and stars and stripes are a great graphics to add to your mailers, or social media pages. Be creative when you are deciding on graphics. You can also use a graphics in your posts but don't forget to write something about it.
Social media is a great way to roll out an up and coming sale. You can post a patriotic message to your followers about what services you offer. Remember from all of my social media blogs I explain about the different types of posts. Holiday posts have a tendency to get more likes, now if you add a small sales pitch to it you will be killing two birds with one stone. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are the places to do this.
Your blog posts should consist of at least one post about the 4th of July or independence. I know I said to post a story about this but writing a blog about your holiday memory or the importance of celebrating this day is great way to get readers engaged. If they like this blog they will actually go on to read your other ones.
Contests are one of my favorite ways to market any small business. You can even do the contest online. Make a post asking your followers to show you their most patriotic pictures. Another fun contest is hosting a coloring contest or writing contest geared towards kids. This is a great way to get your name out there to local residents. Now you're probably wondering what do I give away as prizes? It can be something simple, like a gift card to a fast food place or to the movies. Remember people love free things!
In one of my last blogs I touched on Facebook Live, I highly recommend incorporating the 4th of July in a live video. Just don't get all political when you are going live. If you go pro republican or pro democrate you will alienate half of your clientele. If you can keep it about how great America is then by all means go live. Just be careful. This should come off as genuine, warm and caring not political.
Putting things in print and sending out postcards can boost your revenue as well as creating new customers. Advertising an upcoming sale will help spread the word and get your name out there. Make sure you use patriotic graphics and red, white and blue.
The holidays are a great way to build your clientele. Using holiday marketing will boost your sales as well as keeping your name fresh on the mind of the consumer. There are alot of way to market your business during the holidays be creative and have fun with it.
